Moissanite Jewelry

Moissanite looks like diamond, but it is definetly not a diamond. Moissanite is a silicond carbid, a mineral, which was found about a century ago. The name of moissanite is related to Henry Moissan who had done the mineral identification .

Moisanite is now getting more popular because of the lower price compare to diamonds. Althoug it is cheaper, it doesn’t mean it less beauty than diamonds. Some people may think that moissanite is a fake diamond. However moissanite is not a fake diamond. Some people may call it as a diamond substitute. Although it looks like a diamond, moissanite has its own characteristics with its unique sparkle. Some people said that moissanite actually is better looking than diamond because it has more fire and briliance. However many people can not tell the differences between moissanite and diamond.

Another benefit of moissanite that it is a quite hard stone. It is almost as hard as diamond and it is harder than any other gemstones. Hard stone means more durable. You need to consider the durability of the stones and the metal of your jewelry especially when you buy your engagement or wedding rings. Engagement and wedding rings are the symbol of love. You only give them to your lover once and you hope that your spouse will wear it forever.

However, moissanite earrings and jewelry are certainly durable, they must still be cared for properly in order to keep them looking their best. Moissanite jewelry can be cleaned using plain old soap and water as well as commercial jewelry cleaners, which can be found in most jewelry stores and many department stores that sell fine jewelry. Moissanite should also be safe in ultrasonic cleaners. It is a good idea to remove moissanite rings and bracelets when doing housework, gardening or any type of work that could cause the jewelry to be knocked around.
